Hi Everyone! Recently moved to the remote backwoods of south central Vermont on a dirt road far from any charger. On my path to be completely carbon neutral, I figured an EV was the first step, and here I am! With new incentives from our Green Mountain power - including a Level II charger - this was the time before GM loses their federal tax benefit. My 2020 Bolt LT is a joy and has been surprisingly well suited for steep hills, winter roads, and winding byways of rural Vermont. While friends thought I was crazy to give up my AWD Subaru, I am very happy and impressed with the Bolt - and it's a blast to drive on our back roads. Even in winter.
This board and related resources gave me lots of VERY helpful information on how to manage an EV in winter (preconditioning, operate without heat, etc.). It's worked well for ski trips and runs to the recycling center as well - I don't know any car in this class that can fit two full 30 USG cans standing up! Once I get my Level II charger installed, this will be easier to manage in the winter.
My only issue thus far has been the very silly lack of a rear cargo cover over the sunken cargo bay - apparently the LT does not include this basic piece of plastic. And GM wants $177USD for it!
