So on Thursday morning I went to get in my car, after remote start, and the car would not unlock. So I pulled out the key to hit unlock. Nothing. ****, it’s still on. I got on my phone and unlock the car thru the app. Got in the car and tried to start the car, nothing. Did not detect any remote. Went inside and got the other key. Same problem. Replace the battery real quick. Nothing. Got in my other car and went to work. Came home and car worked like normal. Really weird. Hasn’t happened again. Hope it doesn’t happen again. Lol.

There's speculation that the battery may be low.. or there may be some sort of radio interference with the receiver in the car OR perhaps there is some software problem. Mine said no remote detected and showed me an info graphic about where to put the fob in the center console. Later in the day I was able to lock/unlock the car from several hundred feet away using the same keyfob, so that rules out battery. I've only seen radio interference keep a key clicker from working once in my life and that was years ago when I was parked next to a TV transmitter tower in Philadelphia. That really just leaves software glitch in the car....

The same happened to my sister...once. She called me, in a panic. I asked her what she'd do if her desktop PC did something weird, and of course, the answer was to shut down and reboot it. She did, and it fixed it. I also asked what happens with her desktop PC if she tries to do stuff before it is done booting, and explained that the Bolt probably has a half-dozen processors trying to initialize, synchronize and agree on the vehicle condition before settling down to get to work. The light dawned...first push "Start", *then* do all of the other stuff one does to adjust the vehicle to personal tastes. By the time you're done, the vehicle is probably ready to go. Changing the order of starting the vehicle is something I learned in the EV-1, 20 years ago. These crazy tech marvels take time to boot up.

She and her hubby bought a 2017 two months after I did. All it took was an extended test drive of ours...:D

Next time just remove the box in the center console and put the FOB
near the front on the bottom of the box. You'll see an outline on the bottom.
This will allow you to over ride whatever is causing an issue. IMO, it's from interference from another source. IT's not uncommon!
