I just have a some pulleys on the ceiling and a weight on the wall, with a pvc pipe that swings down.

Here it is deployed.

A magnet holds it up when retracted.

The weight just moves up and down the wall. A furniture slider is on the back, with a piece of metal above it for another magnet on the wall to catch. The weight is a piece of Trek decking.

I have a smart one (JuiceBox 32) primarily because of the larger utility rebate. Between that and the federal charging equipment tax credit, my charging setup was essentially free. After learning how to interpret each charging session graph, you can see traction battery heating and cooling as well as 12v charging. You can also see your charging current and line voltage as well as have a record of all your home charging and expense. Curiously, after paying the larger rebate, the utility has not asked for access to any of the data.
