I have downloaded the MyChevrolet app, but the battery life and the mileage information won't update. Is it because I haven't purchased access to OnStar? If OnStar is really required for the app to work, it seems like a problem with "truth in advertising" that Chevy advertises features such as app access being available on the Bolt without disclosing that they are tied to a monthly access price for OnStar.

If it isn't about Onstar, what is likely to be going wrong with my access?

Maybe I'm not supposed to be able to get that now with an expired Onstar.
I've had the odd occasion of it saying to drive the car to get it responding if I've parked the car for an unknown number of days. Location shouldn't matter.
Is the blue light on in the ceiling Onstar stuff? Does the bluetooth work for mic for phone? Maybe the Onstar fuse has been pulled.

We had the free trial OnStar when the car was new. When it ran out, I put a piece of black electrical tape over the annoying lights by the mirror. The app has worked on and off over the last two years. Sometimes the site is messed up for days, and refuses to load.

When it doesn't work, I will go to the MyChevy website. It doesn't show tire pressure, but it seems it often works when the app won't, and visa versa.

Note--it is especially the "vehicle status" tab. When I try to refresh it, it just spins endlessly.
You may need to call On-Star and let them know you have an electric car that's supposed to have the free vehicle connected service (EV mobile command??? see link below). They sometimes in their own ignorance disconnect it when your free trial ends. When you call them they may still not understand and you need to ask for a supervisor or open a ticket. Eventually they will figure out what you're talking about.

Mine has a ridiculously short range for Bluetooth which is how, I believe, the app communicates with the car if you don't have Onstar. So you might try getting a bit closer. There have been a number of threads about how unreliable the app is. I know that I've deleted and reinstalled it three times in the last year in attempts to get it to work better.

We don't have OnStar, and I am definitely not using Bluetooth to get the data from the app, as I can check it when my wife is in town. I never set up KeyPass, as folks had problems with it, and I didn't see much use for it.
