Looks like GM offers four different versions Bolt windshields with land departure and/or rain sensing features being the distinctions. They are all about the same price, however what I'm wondering is what installation and recalibration of those features would cost and what companies could actually undertake this? I'm not so sure my local we-come-to-you glass guys would be able to handle this.

If it was my windshield being replaced, since I'm out of my 3yr/36K mi warranty... I would skip the Lane Keeper re-calibration (if it's even needed) as it's a pretty much useless feature IMO.

Windshield replacement also requires a recalibration of the lane assist function?!?!?

The windshield of my wonderful Silver Premier developed a crack two days ago. A couple of things of interest came up.

First, the glass replacement folks told me they have to order replacement glass through the dealer. No major surprise here, but it will add days to the time of its replacement.

Secondly, the car has to be taken to the dealer for a 2-3 hour recalibration of the lane assist functions. Apparently, the wiring goes through the windscreen somehow and unhooking it will unset the functions.
I'm not thrilled about losing my car (and time) to get a simple glass replacement, but what can you do?
Safelite is coming tomorrow to replace my windshield, Charging $300 for this calibration, What the heck is it? Sounds like fluff.

Does your rearview mirror have a big, black plastic thing behind it, like this?

If so, you have cameras and sensors for things like Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, etc. They do have to be recalibrated if you replace the windshield. Don't know what it should cost.

Satellite replaced mine two times this month. They said they recalibrated sensors.

The first replacement windshield cracked without any incident a couple days after installed, so they replaced that under "warranty".

The PROBLEM - the passenger side windshield wiper now slaps the right side of the frame alongside the windshield. We let the second installer know, but there is still a problem, which did not exist before the first replacement windshield was installed. Hopefully they will remedy it soon, as our rainy season isn't too far off, and when it rains in Florida, often torrential rains.

This might be a good time to consider whatever windshield protectors are out there even if it means making the car slightly ugly. I would personally get a bug/rock deflector and look into some coating or extra laminate for the windshield. That alone should better your chances.
There are also windshield protection films - WPF available I recommend STEK DYNOFlex, will keep your WS from cracking…

For a cheaper alternative some ppl have used 2 coats of Shatter-X and they swear by it.

My latest 800+ mile trip home I heard something hit the left side of the car. Several hours later I noticed two cracks going across the windshield. A rock or something hit within about 1/4 inch from the edge of the windshield. I'm driving back later this week and don't have time to mess with it right now. Luckily the cracks are not in my line of sight.

Looks like it was hit in the worst possible place right near the edge. If it had been more towards the middle there would have been less a chance of it cracking and it could have had the chip repaired. In this case the entire windshield will need replacing. I hope your insurance will cover it.

Yeah, I had a similar rock strike at the right edge of the windshield with a crack starting to creep its way leftward. I had it replaced with my insurance covering all except a $200 deductible.
