I have only had my '17 premier for a few months now. Just rolled through 60K miles.
During the fall my range seemed to be spot on and 250+ wasn't an issue.
Now that it is much colder in Utah everything has gone crazy.
4 days a week I charge to 100% at work. I have hilltop reserve set at my house so all other days I charge to 80%
This morning was around freezing, so not super cold.
My commute is 41 miles and when I shut her down it showed 41.1 miles and 12.8KWh used. I had climate control set to 75 and used max defrost quite a bit along the way. When I could avoid using climate control this same commute can be done in just under 10 KWh. My running Miles/KWh sits between 4.1-4.2
The thing that is bugging me is that the green bars that show charge went from 80% to under 25% and the dash gave me the charge soon warning.
Given that a reasonably healthy battery should have around 60 KWh and 50% should be 30KWh. I am a little concerned that 12.8KWh suddenly represents over 50% of my battery.
The car stays plugged in and I always precondition in the morning.
Is this EV life, or does this sound off?

Sounds off. I suggest charging to full and seeing what your GOM says. There have ben a couple recent threads about batteries suddenly losing significant range, one so far has resulted in a battery replacement under warranty.
