2023 EUV Can't Find Wiper Blades That Fit

I am not satisfied with the performance of the Drivers side Wiper blade on my new (August 2023) EUV Premiere.

My problem is that I can't find wiper blades that fit the arm properly. I know that the blades are 24 and 16 inches, however, Chevy seems to have altered the mounting method for the blade and none of the brands I checked have the proper adapter for the 2023 EUV.

The problem is that Chevy changed the "release button" location from the end closest to the arm pivot, to the location farthest away from the pivot (see the photo below):

Image

For example: the top wiper above shows the release button toward the left, however, on my 2023 EUV, the release button would be on the left side (closest to the end of the wiper arm).

Has anybody changed Wiper blades on a 2023 EUV and found a blade that fit?

Thanks for your help.

PS: I copied this image from another thread on this Forum, so, credit goes to the original poster.

PPS: I have tried Michelin, Peak, Trico, Bosch, Duralast, and several others, they just do not have the proper adapter.

I’ve changed the ones on our EUV. This was the one I ended up buying:

PEAK Optix Beam Wiper Blade, All-Weather Windshield Wiper Blade, Auto Replacement Part, 24", Pack of 1 Amazon.com: PEAK Optix Beam Wiper Blade, All-Weather Windshield Wiper Blade, Auto Replacement Part, 24", Pack of 1 : Automotive

If you look at the photos showing the different adapters, the one that I remember using is the one on the lower left.
You have a 2022 EUV and your wiper arms are like the arms in the photo (also, your blades are the same size), my 2023 EUV is different (and it takes two different size wiper blades).

I looked at the Peak, the problem is they changed the arms on the 2023 EUVs and the adapter you mentioned has the release button on the wrong end of the wiper arm receptacle.

I will try to post a photo of my wiper arms soon.

Odd.
GM shows the same part number for both model years.
Right blade:

Left blade: (but it’s already discontinued……hmmmmm..?)

This car is more of a unicorn than I thought.
I looked at gmparts direct also and the image showed the wrong connection, the connection would fit the 22, not the 23.

PS: I like the unicorn comment!!!

I did not know those were available. Thank you for the link. I may start doing this as well.

If you decide to do it, it takes a bit of finesse to get one of the ends off. Here's the original discussion where I go the idea. Watch the included video so you don't break the end caps.

Tom, Thanks for the picture, this just adds to the dilemma. Your 2023 Bolt EUV has different arms than my 2023 Bolt EUV. You also have the 24 and 16 inch blades, however, your mounts are different than mine (see photo).

Thanks gm for making an unnecessary change in the middle of a model year!!!

Thanks Tom

One of the major differences between the EV and EUV models is the wiper system used on each, and you may be confusing the two models. The EV has an "opposing" style wiper linkage where the driver and passenger blades park at the center of the windshield base and sweep in opposite directions (driver side blade sweeps toward the left edge of the windshield and passenger side blade sweeps toward the right edge). The EUV has a "parallel" style wiper linkage where both driver and passenger blades sweep to the left in parallel. The photo in your original message is from a Bolt EV (not an EUV); note how the two blades are parked one above the other at the center of the windshield. Here's a photo showing the wiper set up on an EUV:

BTW, the 2022 and 2023 EUV wiper systems use the same components (including the same wiper arms and blades):

Thank you for the photo, if you zoom in on your picture, you can see that the wiper blade release button is closer to the pivot point of the wiper than to the end of the wiper arm (just like in the first photo you referenced).

My problem, which can be seen in the photo below, is that gm changed the position of the wiper blade release button to the point furthest away from the pivot point. This change makes all the wiper blades, and even the GM OEM wiper blades that have been referenced above, not fit my wiper blade arm.

I am beginning to think that only a few of the Bolt EUVs have this issue and that gm might have changed the release position back on later builds.

After posting my reply above, something still didn't sound right, so I dug a little deeper. Turns out that AC Delco (AC Delco Catalog) has the correct info. There was a production change on April 3. Any 2023 EUVs built before 4/3/2023 use the same wiper blades as the 2022 EUVs. EUVs built on or after 4/3/2023 use the new connectors. Since this change is so recent, I suspect that there are no aftermarket blades with the correct adapter, so you may be out of luck for any non-OEM blades for the immediate future, but it shouldn't be long (maybe late this year or early next year) before some of the major aftermarket sources (ANCO, Bosch, Trico, Valeo, etc.) begin including the appropriate adapter. If you want a replacement blade now, it looks like it's the dealer's parts department or a parts store with an AC Delco account as your only choices.

Edit: GM part #s for the later style: left blade = 42858909; right blade = 42858912

Not to throw this thread off track (and not answering OP's question), but is everyone applying Rain-X to their windshield (and other windows and mirrors)? Regular application of Rain-X will extend the life of your wiper blades by several years. I've been a diehard Rain-X window treatment proponent since the late 1980s.

Yes, there's "manual labor" required to properly treat your windshield with Rain-X, but it's definitely worth the time spent. Even commercial users (tug boat operators in Pacific Northwest) swear by Rain-X.

A set of Rain-X wipers recently went on sale on Amazon and ours were getting streaky so I picked up a set. Fits well. Also, @EUV4ME these may potentially fit yours too. I took a picture of the instructions for you and if you notice one of the configurations is similar to yours. For what it’s worth, it “does not fit your EUV 2022” was what Amazon told me but I went with my gut anyway. Product link and photo of instructions attached.
