GM to spend $1 billion to expand Chevy Bolt EV recall due to fires
General Motors on Friday said it is expanding its recent recall of Chevrolet Bolt EVs to newer models of the electric car due to potential fire risks.
Poor Darcy B and Diana…..I would not want to be manning the EV Consierge Line right now.
wondering the same thing. Owned my Bolt just over a month. NOT enthused.Yeah.... So if we just got new EUVs... can we get out of these now? Because this recall is going to take forever with over 100k+ cars and having to produce all new cells and wait for those to be manufactured.
Yeah- they don't have any other battery mfg. partners.Soo they are going to replace these LG modules with...more LG modules?
Yeah, but trust us guys - we got it right this time. Yeah, I know about the last time - but trust us, we mean it for real this time.Yeah- they don't have any other battery mfg. partners.
I'm planning on mostly parking my Bolt the next few months. Just did a target charge to 50% and leaving it alone...unplugged. As long as it doesn't get cold this is probably the safest bet. Lithium is happy at 50%.My wife just sent me a link. I was happy till now, not sure how I'll handle it. I'm not particuarly concerned as I have only run mine down below to 38 miles one time and very seldom below half. Mostly leave it plugged in but only use 12A charger. I charge to 85 or 90 percent most all of the time. Leaving in a few days for a 18 day motorcycle trip and trying to sort out how to handle it. Don't want to leave it outside but may have wife charge it outside but park inside when not charging.
Why -oh -why did I get a 21 Bolt when they finalized the buyback of my 2018 3 months ago? They were very professional and nice a month ago when I initiated my buyback. But the volume is going to be even higher now.
Perhaps a few of these, surely they can work out a deal: 🤪Yeah- they don't have any other battery mfg. partners.
