EVGo and ChargePoint flop

I'm planning a trip from Syracuse, NY to Birmingham, AL and wanted to try to use up some of my EVGo credits that came with my car. EVgo coverage on the I81 corridor is terrible so I usually use Electrify America which worked perfectly last year 5,200 miles to AZ and back. The longest gap in the stations was 190 miles so I made it with ease. 1ABRP is showing a possibility of a route with some fill ins on EA. I have never used EVgo so haven't even verified that my account will work. I emailed with Chevy EV concierge and they verified my credits are available. I called EVGo support at 8:45 AM Eastern Saturday and no agent ever came on. Not even any elevator music. 4 minutes of silence later a survey came up so I voiced my displeasure. I called back 20 minutes later and did connect to an agent who said my account was active with $500 credit. Are these stations going to work for me? Can I use my credits also on ChargePoint? I called ChargePoint twice at 9:30, the elevator music was cutting in and out and no agent ever picked up after 5 minutes so I hung up. Is it really worth taking a chance of not arriving on time after a 22 hour drive to save maybe $100 each way? This is a business trip and I have to check in on time and don't feel like baking in more than a few extra hours of insurance time (I would have to get up and leave before Dawn). I know I can count on Electrify America.

Does EVGo start from the App? Or only with the tap card (I never signed up to get on e until today) or phone call (which I don't feel I can count on in the middle of the night or even 9AM Saturday morning).

Yes, EVGo credits work at Chargepoint stations. You must start the charge either with the EVGo app or the EVGo RFID card to use your credits.

The RFID card can take a long, long time to arrive after you order it, so if your trip is in the near future I'd plan on just using the EVGo app.

I don't know the answer, especially with regard to credits, but here's my datapoint.

We drove from DC to Cape Cod with three EVGo stops along the way. I'd updated the EVGo app in my phone the night before and enabled everything that seemed useful.

Charging worked like a dream. I didn't fiddle with a tap card, a credit card, the infotainment screen, or a phone. I simply plugged in, waited for the green "Continue" button to light on the kiosk's screen, hit the button and walked away. Easier than filling with gas.

Gas is way too cheap. Should be double the current amount of $3.80/ gallon in the USA. And redistribute the Carbon fee as a dividend equally to every household so people that don't waste Carbon energy actually come out progressively better off. The charge network providers have to maintain a viable business model. I don't mind paying at parity with gas for the couple times per year that I charge on the road. All the rest of the time of daily commuting I pay not even half versus gas in a 40 mpg car.

Yeah, we are paying for gas... but in our taxes. The true cost of gas is, according to 25-year-old studies, is closer to $8-$16/gal. Anyone who complains about EV tax credits needs to answer for that first. When my father-in-law told me, "EVs are nice, but I just don't like the government shoving them down our throats." I said, "Well, I'm tired of the government shoving gasoline down our throats.... which they've been doing for about 100 years."

The fossil fuel industry, world wide, receives aproximately 11 million dollars a minute in government subsidies.

I've used charge point for my EV Go credits. Just go to the Evgo app and select partner chargers and the charge Point locations come up. If it's ok the list, it should work. You must do it through the Evgo app to get your credit. Look at transactions.
