The J1772 connector is generic, so there should be no issue using the adapter to connect to the car.

 

None whatsoever. This has been our home charger for the last five years. The only caution is to make sure the Tesla plug is fully inserted. It is a snug fit in most of these adapters, and you may think it is all the way in when it is not. This will just prevent it from waking up the car, so you will know immediately if it is not all the way in.

 

Thanks for the pictures. I guess my main concern was that the tap would put undo pressure on the J1772 connector.

 

Never heard of an issue. On an auction site they sell a defective one that goes to 24A only is pretty temptingly cheap.

May or may not have enough features in software and Tesla app. Should be able to set some things in app.

Yes 👍 I do and no problems indoors. There was a problem when used exclusively outdoors. Water would eventually penetrate Tesla Tap Mini causing it to not work. I had to bake it in oven (per Tesla Tap instructions) to dry it out. Now I use a $5 flexible gutter downspout to cover connector plus apply dielectric grease.
