March 7, 2022, 3:50 pm update from my Repurchase Coordinator

…very recently production on new 2022 Bolts have stopped.

Moving forward, only orders for 2023 Bolts can be placed.

Ordering will not open up for this until another month or two…

Is it too optimistic to hope that they will automatically convert 2022 orders to 2023 orders? I feel like that would be the logical thing to do, but knowing GM, they'll probably force us to go to our dealers to place a new order.

…so will the price for a '23 Bolt be adjusted to 10 grand over MSRP?
The hosting Dealer makes $500ish on the flip and that “sale” doesn’t go against his allocation.

GM controls the flip price and that doesn’t include those high margin Dealer adds like “MopNGlo” (paint protector), window tint, interior protection, door guards etc. unless you added & paid.

I believe orders don't actually open until tomorrow. I undetstood they were going to run for about a month on the 22 before switching to the 23 - probably to use inventory.

IIRC, Federal Law or regulations allows a model year to be up to 18 months long. Guessing that restart will be in June-July so might as well jump to 2023.

WHERE did this information come from, I can not find anything on it anywhere.
Please read the OP again…

“March 7, 2022, 3:50 pm update from my Repurchase Coordinator” by EMAIL.

And although those are the actual words of my RC, I have no desire to publicly post the entirety of her message as it relates to my case.

Can't make this stuff up even though GM and “Their Hired Guns” may???

My repurchase coordinator recently told me the same information via email. Honestly I am a little miffed. At first they offered me the opportunity to go down the trade repurchase route, but I had to wait and see what inventory was released for this purpose. By the time the inventory was available, there were only three vehicles to choose from, and none were spec'd how we wanted.
The repurchase coordinator assured me that it wouldn't be an issue, and I could place an order. Now with the news that no '22s will be produced, the repurchase coordinator cannot give a timeline, or even a guarantee that we will be able to order a '23. Not cool

More conflicting info from the RC coordinators.
I asked my RC about this and she referred the question to somone else, who checked the status of my 22 swap order and she said it’s still active. Status is like 1100
Not sure what’s going on here. Unless it’s all verbal at this stage and not official.

thinking I should have tagged that silver LT2 from the Nov batch when I had the chance. I waited 3 days cause dealer had COVID, and then it was gone

I inquired with my dealer that is handling the trade and he said my car is still slated for production the first week of May. My guess is that they restart production of 2022's to fill all of the Trade Repurchase orders then move to the 2023's. But WTF do I know, at this point the same as everybody else.

What do you possibly think they could change in one year?

If they change to Ultium though, then well, F-yea!
PRICE!

Bolt is not due for a makeover AND the EUV may have been the last measurable update.

After being on Stop Sale for months with supply line/inflation pressures, make your 2023 COSMETIC changes while adding/deleting options/packages.

BAM - it’s the “Almost-New” 2023 Bolt sporting a higher Monroney Sticker.

Sorry, the HV battery WILL NOT see an Ultium upgrade…

Last night I emailed, and today got a call from Phillip (my RC) to inform me that at least my 22 ev order is on track for production. Told me that the only swap orders he has heard of getting cancelled were because they were not entered correctly, as in "new guy mistake". Now he waits for the build so he can get the invoice and then my payoff info so he can get the offer submitted.
So, still waiting for production to start.

Congrads to you. So there will be some produced.
Hopefully for you that 3400 number put you in the last group of 22’s to make

Here’s the latest on production dates.
