2023 Bolt EUV tire pressure issue

I received a message stating my Bolt's front tire pressure as being low this morning. I took it to a gas station and as I was getting close to the recommended psi of 37, the car horn beeped twice (I'm assuming it was letting me know the tire had enough air). After adding air, the display still shows psi at 21.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice?

After adding air, you have to drive a little bit for the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to update.

Oh.....my free tire gauges always do that. Press them harder on the tire stems.....other free tire gauges register higher pressures. Whether they are correct? 🤪 Sometimes, two free gauges register fairly close too. I call it good. 🤔 🤥

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. What free gauge? I don’t see anywhere in the original post that a tire guage was ever mentioned, or if there was one, whether it was a “free” gauge or not. The horn honk is most likely the tire fill alert (if equiped), although the manual reads that it will honk once when the proper pressure is reached. The display in the car is based off the TPMS sensor.

Look at the pressure of all 4 of your tires. I had low pressure in a tire, so I added some air. The pressure was still low. Then I noticed that another tire on the car was over pressurized. What happened is when the dealer rotated my tires (free rotation), the technician forgot to relearn the TPMS positions. I bought the $5 TPMS learn tool on Amazon and retaught the positions myself.

I had a similar experience on my 2023 EUV 1LT.

The in-dash pressure display was always 37 or 38, for like 3-4 months, occasionally moving a pound or 2. I had some time so I figured I'd take it to a gas station with free air and top it up to 39 just because it felt like it shouldn't last that long.

2 of the 3 showed like 19 pounds on the gas station meter. One of them caused an error to trigger on the pump, it seemed like it added more air but the pressure went down. So I went to a different pump (this gas station had 2 free pumps). On the drive to the other side of the gas station, the tire that had given the error now showed 26 pounds on my dash display. Weird.

I was able to top it off at the other pump.

You are right, in 2 instances, the car did give me 2 short beeps. I'm not sure what that means.

It's due for a state inspection within the next 2 weeks, I'll do this at the dealer and talk to them about the issue. I'll also go home latter and use a hand gauge (old fashioned type with the plastic rod).

All the best

Chris
