Anyone drive from Portland to Seattle often?

My wife and I are taking our first trip that will require a charge. And we've had our 22 EUV for almost a year! We're retired and don't do a lot of driving, and the Bolt has been great for us. We've never had to charge away from home, but we have accounts with the major providers that I see in the area. The hotel in Seattle doesn't have a charging service, but there are a few close to the hotel. It will be interesting to see how we do on I5 vs the city. Going out to the coast, our mileage is good because the winding mountain roads allow more regen. Driving the freeway will be a bit different.
Anyway, if anyone in the area knows of good places to charge or stop, i t would be great to hear, thanks.

Not from Portland to Seattle, but we just went from Lincoln City to SeaTac and back.
Unfortunately I probably won't be too helpful for charging locations.
We charged at Three Rivers Mall (which is a pretty dead mall, but the charging was fine), but that's probably too close to Portland to be very useful for you.
It looks like Portland to Seattle is within the Bolt's range. So I am thinking you are just looking for a charge spot(s) in Seattle then... There are a few Electrify America spots (I tend to look for those when I am out just because they tend to have the most stalls per spot, so more likely available.) listed on plugshare... Unfortunately I haven't used them...

Hopefully some others are familiar with Seattle charging spots.

Driving the freeway up around SeaTac/Tacoma was fine for us, partially because the traffic kept us driving fairly slow in several locations, so that helped with the range. ;-)

Good luck!

I’ve driven from Portland to Vancouver BC multiple times. It’s a piece of cake making it to Seattle on a single charge. Somewhere in the Seattle area is where I usually stop for my first charge. I’ve always used Electrify America, and I’ve had good luck. Maybe for your first trip like this stick to roughly speed limit until you gain some confidence in your mileage.

There are several EA (and other) facilities around. I think you’ll probably be able to just pick what works for you. If you’ve got L2 near the hotel, that might work well. Or DCFC nearby, etc. Try to keep backup charging spots in mind, in case your first one doesn’t work out (though my first choice always has).

Good luck and have fun!

Made that trip a lot from Bremerton WA to Portland, the winter is tough when you hit huge climb at 70+ MPH, leaving Portland it was 38DG, we didn't want to charge, did 55, and actually got home with 60 miles of range. this time of the year, should be fairly smooth. lot of reliable charging stops just off the highway. a huge bank of new EA chargers at walmart in Olympia. that's going to be a fun drive. making me miss it!!!!!

I do Seattle to PDX and back quite a bit. There is an EVgo in Chehalis, about half-way between SEA and PDX, right between the Home Depot and Walmart at Exit 79. And like the previous poster says, there's an Electrify America at Three Rivers Mall in Kelso (Exit 39). My 2017 Bolt Premier can go from Seattle to the south end of Portland comfortably on a single charge, so you shouldn't have any issues.

if you're not using a better route planner to quote @SeattleKen your midway charge should be Chehalis EVgo, the charger is in good shape, easy to find, and tons of options for food/snacks/ bio-break. the AIRPORT PARK AND RIDE ChargePoint is in awsome shape, odd area, and 10 min walk to the convenient store, looks shady but mild, if you charge up those two, its fairly flat to Seattle, may opportune charge at SEATAC parking area, but that whole corridor is an EV paradise for charging. have a great safe trip! I piddy the fool that drives Portland to Seattle often. Both are traffic nightmares, with Seattle having figured out how to win the least efficient infrastructure ever created. Washington has the higher speed limit, meaning efficiency will be worse than Oregon on the freeway. At least you'll be getting fantastic efficiency in gridlock traffic.

I do the drive pretty often (Seattle->Portland) ; in good weather, don't need to charge. In colder weather, usually stop at Three Rivers Mall DCFC or at the chargepoint unit at the Centralia airport.

Enjoy yourselves! If you're headed from pdx->seattle, ice cream from Salt&Straw picked up at the start is at the perfect level of meltedness by Seattle in a cooler
