Dumb name, but a cool concept. Unfortunate that it wont be available privately, for those looking for a more spacious electric. Wonder how many delivery companies will consider using this in their fleet. Could see it being popular for postal use. I'm sure the smaller stock tires will also improve its efficiency.

 

I was actually planing to remove the back seats to save weight for more range, dose anyone know how much they weigh ? this car is purely just for me to get from my home to job 180 km commute daily, I dont carry passengers I have 2 other cars to choose from for that.

 

So if organizations can get the Bolt Incomplete, then why not members of a Dot Org?

 

I once had the idea of removing my rear seats, like I did in my Chevy Trax and my Buick Encore.

The problem is the seat configuration is different in the Bolt when I removed the rear seat lower cushions from my Trax and Encore the rear floor laid flat.

I don't have the same space in the Bolt, the section of battery sticks up, the load floor is much higher.

I wonder if they are going to reconfigure the battery, so it would make the load floor flat.

 

Typical GM they missed the point - the seats that need fixing are the front two driver & passenger seats…removing the rears isn't going to fix the fact that the driver's seat sucks.

 

RE: back seats.
I rode in the back seat of my Bolt for the first time....well, possibly the first time ever. I am 6 feet tall, and I had a couple of inches of headroom sitting in the left rear seat. Had plenty of thigh support, and because my 5'3" wife was driving, acres of legroom. The heated seats worked very well too (almost too well, as they are simply on/off). If I had to ride in the back of my Bolt for a long distance trip, it seems it would be perfectly fine.

 

As the photo suggest ... in the Domino Bolt ... they need to leave room for the Pizza rack going in the back! They have super cleverly disguised the antenna on top with the Domino's domino. That's stealth.

In general it would be interesting to have the option to buy a Bolt with removable rear seats like a mini-van. The extra cargo space would be great for camping, hauling, and so on. Would it change the efficiency... ? maybe. We don't normally see such an option in a hatchback, as I guess buyers consider passenger space to be more valuable than cargo space, but a Bolt EV is a good candidate for this option. The present model series is not designed that way, but maybe a future model, based on the Bolt EV platform maybe could have removable seats behind the front row.

 

A friend of mine likes my Bolt, but wants one with a box shape. He is a painter, and needs to carry ladders on the roof, and carry paints, drop-cloths, etc. inside. In other words, he wants a small tradesman's van built on the EV frame. The pizza Bolt is only half-way there.

 

I would prefer a small van or truck like vehicle myself, I got sick of buying pick up trucks for the little bit of hauling I do.

A pickup with 4wd cost a fortune to buy and operate, for as often as I need a truck its a big waste of money.

I had 4 snow tires on my Bolt in a recent snow storm I really didn't think I was going to make it home and when I got there up my steep driveway.

I was blown away how well the Bolt was in the snow, the roads were not plowed 4wd trucks were spinning their wheels yet the Bolt was pulling like the tires were stuck to the snow, it went up my driveway without spinning a tire.

The Bolt does make a fine little utility vehicle I can do without the rear seats and everything else back there just give me a flat load floor.

There you go! All those folks wanting aero wheels can get this wheel and tire combo and put the Moon caps on. I bet they'd snap right on. Since this Bolt is intended for hauling cargo, I hope they make the camera mirror standard even though it is an LT. That and maybe the blind spot warning.

 

Looks like the wheels are just typical steelies with hubcaps...ugly looking ones. They look like flowers to me.

Though that does give me an idea for aero wheels now. Gotta keep a lookout for some light wheels that are hubcap-friendly now...

 

You know, I bet those steel wheels aren't all that heavy. They're certainly heavier than fancy forged aluminum wheels, but I bet their on par with many cast aluminum wheels and as has been discussed elsewhere here, if it is extended range you're going for, wheel weight doesn't matter that much.
