What GM accessories to buy with the bonus voucher deal (points worth double)?

Sorry if this is the wrong area. I wasn't sure if there was a better one. I couldn't find an existing thread on this.

Many of you may have received snail mail and email about a special that ends 5/31/19. Basically, only half as any many points are needed for a given voucher vs. before (e.g. 20,000 points (instead of 40,000) yields a $200 accessories voucher).

I've got 22,150 points and would like to redeem some/most by 5/31/19. I can't really figure out what accessories to get that are worthwhile. Many of them are way overpriced. If I select other vehicles at https://accessories.chevrolet.com/ like a 2019 Chevy Cruze, electronics, I can see some other stuff like at https://accessories.chevrolet.com/search/2019/Chevrolet/Cruze#/12013/Electronics?sortId=top such as headphones. I'd actually like noise canceling headphones but I don't see any.

Anyone plan to take advantage? What do you plan to get? I actually don't care if they even work with or fit with a Bolt. If they're valuable for resale, that's fine with me. Right now, I'm leaning towards one of those headphones or a BF100 Bluetooth speaker or a jump starter and selling it. (I already have a small light pack that's more than enough for Bolt.)

Or maybe, I'll get one of the above and an emergency reflective triangle?

I don't need any floor mats. I find the trunk mat to be too expensive. I don't need any roof rack accessories. I don't plan on getting the illuminated charge port. It looks too involved to install. I don't need any EVSEs.

The Thinkware F200 dashcam is a bit pricey and supposedly not that great but it seems to be a custom solution that taps into the OBD2 port but also says at https://catalog.echomaster.com/catalog/home/19418274 that it won't work with electric vehicles?!?! I'd also need someone (e.g. dealer) to install it.

The F800 dashcam is WAY overpriced...

When I bought my 2009 Chevy Equinox, the manager gave me a 20% discount on any accessories I wanted to buy for the Equinox, so I bought the complete set of molded fender protectors, as to prevent mud and small stones from scratching and dirtying the fender behind the wheels.

So if your Chevy Bolt doesn't come with them, get a set with your points. They will not aadd any drag to the body as they are factory designed and molded. Fitting them on is just by reusing the same screws that fit the inside wheel well molding.

From the points I had after purchasing my Bolt, I got the rear cargo mat. At $100 it is over-priced, but since the points covered it entirely, price wasn't really a factor. It's a decent mat and I have used it (and cleaned it) quite a bit.

I considered the cargo area "hard cover" but I doubt that I would use it much.

I am interested to hear what others may have found worthwhile in the GM Bolt Accessories.

And for those who haven't used the points before, you must print a "points" voucher (or have the voucher available as an image on your phone?) and take it to a GM Dealer to order stuff. (There's no way to order online). I picked the mat up at the dealer a couple of days later- no shipping charge if you pick up.

I didn't end up getting the bonus 20,000 points for the purchase. I had a coworker who recently bought a new Silverado mention the program to me asking what I was going to get. I had no clue what he was talking about... My dealership experience was beyond sub-par for pickup of my vehicle. I had no walk through of the vehicle, no assistance in setting up pairing of the phone, no walk through on OnStar, or any in car discussion at all. I signed up for the MyChevrolet app, linked that, and on I went... not realizing there was some rewards program.

I've called and talked to the rewards folks and they said they can only credit the 20,000 if you sign up within 30 days of purchase... but seeing as I didn't know about the program until ~75 days in, I'm out of luck. Am I really missing anything, or is it all related to purchasing accessories from GM? Most times I can get the parts cheaper via online retailers anyway, but if I could have got the parts for free... that's hard to beat.

Stinks that your Dealer didn't help you get set-up better. The Dealer I used (Criswell in MD) was very careful to offer everything GM requires them to do (since you will be asked about each thing when you get your post-purchase GM Customer Satisfaction Survey).

The points thing is all about keeping you connected to GM & Dealers. I am willing to bet that you could easily beat the prices and sometimes the quality of the accessories if you get them online.

But if they want to give me free stuff (like the cargo mat), I will take it.

I bought my Bolt through the Costco car purchase program and in addition to a $700 Costco card I received a coupon for 50% off on accessories and service I bought an LT so I didn't have the rear false floor thingy. With 50% off it was $104 installed by the dealer (a reasonable installed price). This is the one thing I originally wanted but didn't have. It is very nice. With the rear seats folded down there is a capacious flat area.

I was planning on getting the rear cargo liner ($115) and the inflation kit ($85), and that adds up to exactly $200. Though I'm still not final on that decision. The illuminated charge port is tempting, but still a bit pricey for what is basically just an aesthetic addition.

Since I just got a huge nail in my passenger side rear tire (car at shop now), I am going for the inflation kit- thanks for the prompt.

'Not sure this kit would help with my current tire problem, but it's nice to have for minor problems.

So I ended up getting a Bolt EV license frame ($29), a 1,000 amp jump starter ($100), and a G3500 Genius Smart Charger ($60). I just realized I left $11 on the table, but whatever.
Should be able to pick up the free accessories from the dealer in the next couple of days.

I got the same points deal with my lease and have been using the points to extend my Onstar service so I can continue to use the Chevy App for another 6 months.

I got the last 2018 model on the lot last December and they threw in 2 sets of the nice rubber floor mats and liners. So other than maybe a roof rack, I can't think of any other accessory I would want.

Dang, I didn't get a double value coupon. I just cashed mine in for a roof rack. I did see the online store was offering an additional 15% off online purchases, but the points could only be used at the dealership, but the dealership said they'd honor the 15% off too, so am happy with that. But double the value would have been better!

Ditto. I had no idea it was targeted. Sorry.

I received at least snail mail and email about it. I figured that everyone else at least enough of a balance to redeem for the minimum accessories voucher would've received it.

Just picked up the Thul roof basket yesterday. The dealer knocked $100 off on top of the $120 worth or reward points I brought in, so pretty pleased with that. A good dealership will offer addtional discounts when you walk in!

The basket mounts are a bit disappointing. The basket is nice, but the mounts use squared off U-bolts to clamp to the aero oval shaped bar, on top of the clamps mounting to the actual basket are thin plastic, which over time would concern me. So I'm on the hunt for some brackets, universal or otherwise, to use on the aero oval shaped cross bars. Hopefully they'll either be sturdy plastic or better yet metal.

I dropped by my local service dept today. Fortunately, they seemed to be the only one w/a coupon or discount for 10% off. It was unclear if the vouchers would cover sales tax. Answer was yes, as long as I didn't go over what I had vouchers for ($220).

I ended up ordering two of the G3500 NOCO chargers and a 1000 amp NOCO jump starter. I chose a '19 Chevy Cruze for vehicle. I plan to sell all of them as I have on use for any of these. Already have a small jump starter that's sufficient for my Bolt and Leaf + a Tecmate Optimate 4 12 volt charger.

The night before, I checked MANY GM nearby and not so nearby dealers to see if they had any sort of discount on accessories (e.g. lower price or discount coupon). None of them did except for the (fortunately) closest one to me.
