Those wheels and tires look gorgeous. On the performance level though you could have something better. Your setup is 45 lb per wheel, 4.5 lb more than mine for each wheel.

My setup
  • RTX FF10 18x8 offset 42~18.74 lb
  • no lug adapter needed (save 2 lb)
  • Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 235/40-18 ~21.7 lb
40.44 lb per wheel

And I have wider tires (which means more traction on dry) and they fit without any issue. Don't see how your tires that are narrower could be super flush.
No offense but you do not have anywhere near the grip that he does. You have a winter tire, and he has a Summer only basically street legal track tire.

I have. My focus is on best traction in worst case scenario which is on snow and ice as i keep my tires the whole year. I don't need more traction on a surface where it is already difficult to lose grip. My winter tires have good enough traction on dry during summer.

That's fine, but you have nowhere near the same grip level as he does unless it's sub 40 degrees out. Even in the wet, those tires will massively out perform a winter tire in warmer temperatures. That said he's an outlier, as very few people will be looking to put tires like that on a bolt unless they are autocrossing it.

I’m no following the whole discussion but this particular comment attracted my attention and sorry if I’m overreacting but I’m assuming that you know that it is not wise to use summer tires during the summer , you definitely can but not doing yourself any favors , just the fact that they are not designed to be used when is hot out, the wear alone is significant plus the risk of puncture is greater, and how soft the get to the point that handling can feel like jelly. Anyways Just a thought.

No issue with my previous winter tires that lasted me 2 full years with some good margin (equivalent to 4 years with winter + summer tires).
Actually, i enjoyed the grip of those winter tires during summer.

You clearly drive like miss Daisy or have all seasons, every pair of winter tires I've ever had drives like greasy bacon once it's 70f +

Spirited driver here.
That's one of the factors i took into account. I don't live in Arizona Desert.
Another reason is that my tires have a lower profile than the oems 40 vs 50. There is more wobbliness in summer but it's not as bad as the oems.
 
Fyi for 21' and older bolt EV's This TMPS sensor works just fine and is significantly cheaper than the part number listed in service data (13540604). 13598772 https://a.co/d/iHSHt0n

We'll check that out. We may need new TMPS sensors when the new tires from 4 Wheelonline are set to install. Thanks
 
Judging from 2 full charge cycles, the first impression is about 11% difference. I was getting around 270 before and now about 240 miles.

Get a better idea after more charges.
Any updates on this? Looking at getting RT615k+ for summer DD and the occasional non-competitive HDPE track day. Just don't want to eat up too much range if I can avoid it, also considering Firehawk Indy 500.

I had to read this again to see you were trying to say winter tires during the summer.
