He can have it if he wants as far as I'm concerned - and shareholders willing to sell for what he offers.
Feels weird that after waiting for Supercharger access for so long, now that I finally have it, I have no desire to use it (except in an emergency). Sort of regret paying for the A2Z that I picked up last summer. I guess there will be non-Supercharger J3400 units... eventually.

Twitter is a heck of a drug.

You're right, it really is just for emergencies. And I think there are already some non-SC J3400 units out there. Heck, if you get a new car with a NACS port, you may have to get a reverse adapter until all the units are converted over.

A neighbor of mine got rid of his Model 3 and replaced it with a Lucid Air. He's very unhappy with Musk and that's at least part of the reason he switched brands. I showed him my adapter in the fall, and he's looking forward to Lucid having access. However, I haven't spoken with him lately. Perhaps he too will decide Superchargers are only a last resort now. We are down to just one Tesla out of seven BEVs on our block in this very blue neighborhood.

I'll have to admit that we have routes where Superchargers are incredibly convenient vs others. However, the situation has already improved since our last trip, when we used Superchargers exclusively. GM Energy/EVgo Pilot/Flying J stations have opened up. I may never get my 💰s worth out of the adapter until other stations start using NACS plugs more.

2025 Ioniq 5 comes with a reverse adapter so they can use CCS1 chargers.

Lucid got access to SuC not too long ago.

OK, I received an email from Chvy saying I should take my car to a dealer to have the software upgraded on my 2020 to be able to use Tesla supercharger. And of course buy an adapter from Chevy.
Again? I thought last time they apologized for telling people their Bolts needed a software upgrade.

From our understanding, only owners who get such emails have a car that is known to need the update. I didn't with my 2020. Have you received the update yet?

I never got an email from Chevy about my 2020, but when I checked with my dealer he said I did need it. He gave me a copy of the document and I included in message:

It really depends on when the last software update was installed on your Bolt. They did install the update at no charge.

I like EVgo. I use an EVgo station in Raleigh, going and returning during a 400 mile road trip every few months. Two hook-ups are located at a Walmart Super Center which is situated just where I need it to be on my preferred route. So far, after a dozen visits, I have had a perfect experience with both cables. I agree, EVgo is pretty consistent and very good, especially the plug & charge and the covered stalls at Pilot/FJ. My only complaint is they are high priced, almost always over 60¢/kWh.

Have you or anyone else tried the newer Mercedes-Benz charging station?

Not seen any Mercedes chargers here in NC, at least not along the I40 corridor where I frequently stop. As far as charge fees go, I have mentally blocked out the dollar costs..... for the most part. Instead I am just supremely grateful to have Reddy Kilowatt stations open, working, and uncrowded when I need to spark up the battery. I have had the unwanted anxiety of stopping at a ChargePoint, with a single CCS plug, (the other side being a CHADEMO thing) and finding out my side was IN-OP.:poop::poop::poop:. That was before having my Lectron Vortex. Now........ I have lots of options if that happens.

I tried out the one at the Buc-ees in Richmond, KY. A little pricey at 55 cents/kWh, but super nice. We also used one at the Buc-ees in Robertsdale, FL. Same story there. 52 cents/ kWh.

I look at it as insurance. I never thought I was getting my money's worth from my home-owners until Hurricane Irma damaged my roof. That was big dollars to replace. 😳

I always like options, so when it appeared Kia was reneging on the free adapter, I bought the A2Z. Right after it arrived, Kia supplied the promised adapter, so now we have two. The Kia is the one I tested on the Bolt in my earlier post in this thread.

Even if there was a free EA across the street, Carmen would probably vote for the higher priced MB at Buc-ees just for the roast sandwiches! 🥪😏

Evgo is a little pricey.

This thread is wandering again...into disrespectful, politically polarizing comments. Remember, when you take a side, you potentially disrespect nearly 50% of the people on the forum.
The whole idea of forums is to give everyone the opportunity to speak their mind. Simply disagreeing with someone is not disrespectful. Personal attacks are disrespectful. I have yet to see that on this topic. Attacking each other's opinions is a different matter entirely.

Let's get back to talking about the original topic please. If you really want to discuss politics, please do so in the basement section. Thanks... (And yes, I am guilty on occasion as well...not criticizing, just trying to keep the discussion relevant to the original topic).
I agree! This forum is about electric vehicles, not politics. But people, being people, have a tendency to wander off. It's for this reason that I would favor deletion of this topic. We can continue our political discussions elsewhere.

I emailed MB last year to ask how much their Atlanta station costs, but they didn't answer. Does anyone here know?
No surprise there. Just check plugshare like other EV travelers.

To get the thread back about using superchargers ...

NACS to CCS1 Adapter

Yes, I realize that threads are soooo "last year", but I am interested in updates from people that are using NACS to CCS1
Yes, I realize that threads are soooo "last year", but I am interested in updates from people that are using NACS to CCS1 adapter(s), in 2025.

Oh, using the plugshare 'trick' of setting network to "Tesla Supercharger" and connector to "CCS", there are only 5 of the Tesla 'MagicDock' chargers in Calif in early 2025 {3 near-ish to Sacramento, one near Santa Cruz, one near Torrence/Long Beach {L.A.} There is also ONE in Phoenix. It seems that since so many US EV manufacturers either have or are about to switch to NACS, that the 'Magic' has stopped being rolled out. :). And ChargePoint has rolled out combo NASC/CCS fast chargers (basically replacing the "CCS/CHAdeMO" fast chargers). They have 200 kW and 350 kW NASC/CCS fast chargers now.

If one uses the Tesla app, how many 'supercharger/CCS' stations show up in Calif? (Using PlugShare, they seem to be concentrated around Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and the north-eastern seaboard - from Philadelphia to NYC, then up NY state to Syracuse, NYC-> CONN/MASS.)

A few questions for the population, if you have a NACS to CCS1 adapter :
  • what brand are you using?
  • where did you buy it, and for how much?
  • I also have a Spark EV, does your converter work on a Spark?
  • what type of car have you (or a friend) used to charge using the adapter?
  • does it generally work?
  • How much does the electricity cost?

Thanks all!

PS :

Yes, I did do a search, but there were so many hits it was untenable to read 100s of pages.

For reference, in the first 50-70 hits, these seemed useful:
